Log Into Canvas

When your Canvas account is ready, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for accessing it.

Please note:

  • Enrolling in a certificate program does not provide access to Canvas. After your certificate enrollment is confirmed, visit uclaextension.edu to enroll in a certificate course.
  • If you just enrolled in a course that has already started, it may take 2-4 hours for your enrollment to appear in your Canvas Dashboard.
  • Canvas course access becomes available:
    - 2 days before the course start date at 1:00 a.m. Pacific Time until.
    - 30 days after the official course end date shown in the syllabus.

Log In With Your Email Address

Important: Wait until you receive your Canvas account confirmation email before attempting to log in. The email confirms that your account has been activated and is typically sent within 2-4 hours after enrollment.

  1. Go to the UCLA Extension Canvas login page.
  2. Type your email address in the Email field (use the same primary email associated with your uclaextension.edu login).
  3. Type in your Canvas Password or click on "Forgot Password" to receive an email to create new password (Note: New users will be prompted to create a new password)
  4. Click the "Login" button (Note: click on "help" if you need further login assistance or do not receive the "forgot password" link via email).
    5. If prompted, complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to continue accessing Canvas. See "Canvas Security: Multi-Factor Authentication" for instructions on setting up Canvas MFA.
