In an effort to support our writing community, the Writers’ Program offers several free one-day courses each quarter. These no-cost offerings span a variety of areas within our program, including creative writing, screenwriting, editing and publishing, and written communication.
Free courses offered by the program typically take place in the Remote format (live via Zoom) or In-Person.
Enrollment for each of these one-day courses opens two weeks before the date of the class. Please check the course page on the UCLA Extension website for each offering to locate the date that enrollment opens for a particular course. Due to high demand, we recommend enrolling as early as possible.
For an up-to-date list of the current and/or upcoming quarter’s free course offerings, please visit the Free Course Page on the Writers’ Program website.
The Writers’ Program has developed this initiative in conjunction with UCLAxOpen, a program launched by UCLA Extension aimed at providing complimentary online courses and seminars in order to increase access to education for all. For a list of the upcoming free UCLAxOpen courses in academic departments across UCLA Extension, please visit the UCLAxOpen webpage.
Additionally, the Writers’ Program offers a variety of reduced-price one-day courses each quarter.
These courses are typically priced at $30 and have limited enrollment. Enrollment for these courses opens at the beginning of the enrollment period for the given quarter. Again, due to high demand and limited availability, our program recommends enrolling as early as possible.
For an up-to-date list of the current and/or upcoming quarter’s reduced-price course offerings, please visit the Reduced-Price Course Page on the Writers’ Program website.
