UCLA Recreation Membership for UCLA Extension Students

Starting winter 2025, UCLA Extension students enrolled in classes are eligible to purchase a UCLA Recreation Membership at the student rate ($60/quarter). This membership provides access to indoor and outdoor on-campus Recreation facilities, including the John Wooden Center (JWC), Drake Stadium, Pools, Hitch Basketball Courts, Sunset Canyon Rec Center (SCRC), and Tennis Courts. Important Tips to Note Before Purchasing

  • Please wait for a confirmation email from Recreation Member Services before purchase. Refunds are not available for those who purchase a Recreation membership at a higher rate than the student rate. 
  • Must complete steps 2-6 (below) every quarter to maintain eligibility/access.

Steps to Purchase a UCLA Recreation Membership

  1. If you are a brand-new UCLA Rec member, you will first need to make a UCLA Rec account, as UCLA Extension students are not connected through the UCLA logon. Click on this link to create your UCLA Rec account. 
    • Click SIGN UP to create an account
    • Use Extension ID number: X-#####
    • Click the dropdown arrow to enter in current address
  2. Email Rec Member Services (info@recreation.ucla.edu) for Extension student activation to purchase a 1-quarter Rec membership at the student rate. You must include your full name, Extension ID number (starts with an X), and certificate name. 
  3. The UCLA Recreation Member Services team will verify once your Rec account is activated within 2 business days. Do not make a purchase without receiving an email from Recreation Membership Services. Refunds are not available for those who purchase a Recreation membership at a higher rate than the student rate. 
  4. Log in to your Rec account by clicking on this link, and choose |Rec Membership| UG/Extension Students.
  5. Click on the grey duration bar - 1 Quarter
  6. Proceed through the checkout process.

Once your Recreation Membership is purchased, please download the UCLA Rec App for your facility access barcode, program registration, and facility updates.
