The English Learner Added Authorization (CTEL/CLAD) program at UCLA Extension is entirely online. Please refer to our program page here to apply, view eligibility criteria, join the program, and view a list of all course listings. You will need to click into each course to register for it individually.
Once in the program, the following course sequence is recommended:
- Introduction to the Study of Teaching English Language Learners - - taken first, can be taken with other courses
- Culture and Inclusion
- Language and Language Development
- Assessment of English Learners
- Foundations and Methods of English Language Learners
- CTEL Portfolio - - - taken last
