Before enrolling in a course we recommend that students consider the course's number. Courses follow numbering and other conventions that designate class level and type.
UCLA Extensions Course Numbers are the shorthand "number" associated with the course.
The first few letters of the course number refer to the course's discipline (CHEM or MCD BIO) while the last two refer to the course's type (XL or X) and the level (14A or 405).
Examples: CHEM XL 14A, MCD BIO X 405
