Federal Financial Aid Eligibility for Courses, Specializations, and Certificates

To be considered for federal financial aid, you must be enrolled in an eligible program, meet personal eligibility criteria, and complete the application process. If eligible, we recommend you start by thoroughly reading the following page on the UCLA Extension website: Federal Financial Aid. Here, you will find detailed, step-by-step instructions on eligibility, types of aid, cost of attendance estimates, loan disbursement dates, maintaining your eligibility, application steps and links, enrollment conditions, and frequently asked questions for new and current applicants. 

Important Note: 

  1. Courses that are not part of the approved program curriculum will not qualify for financial aid.
  2. International students on an F-1 visa are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
  3. Single courses are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
  4. Specializations are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
  5. Certificate programs not listed on the Federal Financial Aid page of our website are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
