All financial aid disbursements (Direct Loans checks) will be refunded through the UCLA Billing and Receiving (BAR) system called BruinDirect.
BruinDirect is the electronic deposit of funds directly into personal bank accounts which will allow you to have access to your money faster and more conveniently. BRUIN DIRECT may be used for checking accounts at any bank or credit union in the United States.
To utilize BruinDirect you will need to enroll following the steps noted below:
- Go to http://my.ucla.edu
- A UCLA logon is required to log in
- If you have not done so already, you will need to create a UCLA Logon by clicking on the tab "Create UCLA Logon/Password" and then clicking the box titled "Current UCLA Student." You will need to provide the requested information including your UCLA ID number that is provided on your financial aid notification letter
- A UCLA logon is required to log in
- Click on the link for Finance and Jobs on the right hand corner
- Click on the link for Bruin Bill
- Continue to Bruin Bill
- Click on Sign up for my BruinDirect
Make sure you have your checking information (account and routing number) and your UCLA ID number found on your Financial Aid Notice Letter.
*If you do not wish to utilize BruinDirect, your student loan check (proceeds in excess of tuition) will be sent to the mailing address listed on file. Please refer to check disbursement dates (listed in the Federal Financial Aid Guide & Application packet found on page) and allow a minimum of ten days to receive the check via U.S. mail.
