Canvas File Storage

Canvas provides a file repository for each user, group, and course. See the Canvas Student Files guide for more information.

Each student is provided with 1 GB of storage, and it's important to manage your space effectively. Please note:

  1. Canvas Files Storage is not intended to be used as a general cloud repository. You should upload only files that are necessary for your coursework.

  2. Graded Assignment Submissions do not count towards your storage quota, so feel free to submit assignments without worrying about your file limit.

  3. Make sure to save a copy of all files uploaded to Canvas.

  4. Delete Unwanted Files regularly to ensure that you have enough space for your current assignments and coursework materials. If your storage is full, you may encounter issues uploading new files.

We recommend regularly reviewing and deleting any unnecessary files to avoid running out of space.
