Bruin ID Card

Acquiring a guest BruinCard is an exclusive benefit for eligible UCLA Extension certificate students who meet specific enrollment and candidacy requirements.

BruinCard Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to purchase a guest BruinCard, a UCLA Extension student must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an active and current certificate candidacy (i.e., the Certificate Candidacy Fee has been paid and is not graduated or expired).

  • Be currently enrolled in a course or have been enrolled in a course within the past 12 months that is applicable to their certificate program.

Students who do not meet both of these requirements are not eligible for a BruinCard or a refund of the application fee.

Online Purchase Instructions

  1. Log in to the UCLA Extension Student Portal.

  2. Navigate to the Special Requests menu.

  3. Under the Other Items for Purchase section, select the UCLA BruinCard Fee for Certificate Candidates and click Add to Cart. bruincard_screenshot.png

  4. Proceed to Checkout.

  5. Review your profile information for accuracy.

  6. Enter your payment and billing details.

  7. Accept the registration terms and conditions.

  8. Click Continue Checkout.

In-Person Purchase Instructions

You may pay in person by visiting the UCLA Extension Gayley Center (1145 Gayley Ave., 2nd Floor, Los Angeles, CA, 90024). You may pay with cash or a credit card.

Processing Time and Card Pickup

BruinCard application processing takes 7–10 business days. Once processing is complete, you will receive an email with instructions for picking up your card.

Important Notes

  • BruinCards must be picked up in person by the student; they are not available to be mailed.

  • The BruinCard is valid for two years from the date of issuance, and a renewal fee applies upon renewal.

  • BruinCard fees are nonrefundable.

  • Lost or damaged BruinCards can be replaced for a fee of $25 at the BruinCard Center located at 123 Kerckhoff Hall on the UCLA campus.
