UCLA Extension instructors may be eligible for complimentary enrollment in courses to support their professional development or to share with eligible family members.
Please see the steps below on how to apply for a complimentary (COMP) enrollment:
-
Fill out the complimentary enrollment form. This form must be signed by both the instructor and the designated department representative. Incomplete or unsigned forms will result in a denied application.
Please note that some courses require additional materials or approvals. Confirm your eligibility for the selected course with your department representative before proceeding.
Once the department representative reviews and signs the form, you will receive an email notification that the DocuSign process is complete. Note that this notification is not the final application.
Log in to the student portal and complete the UNEX Instructor Complimentary Enrollment Application. You must upload the completed DocuSign form as part of this submission. If the COMP is being passed to a family member, the family member must complete this step through their own student portal.
A few things to note:
Processing typically takes 3 to 5 business days. Please avoid contacting the Enrollment Center for status updates during this window. If 5 business days have passed since your submission, you may email comps@uclaextension.edu.
Limited Enrollment: For classes with a capacity of 25 or fewer students, enrollment processing will not occur until two weeks before the course start date.
High-Fee Courses: If a course fee exceeds $1,000, Enrollment Services must obtain additional approval from the sponsoring department.
Course Changes: COMP forms are not transferable. If a course is canceled, you are not approved from a waitlist, or you decide to take a different class, you must submit a new application and DocuSign form.
