UCLA Faculty & Staff Discount

  • Updated

Current and retired UCLA and Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) career employees who are employed at least 50% time are eligible for a 25% discount on UCLA Extension instructor-led courses. 

  • Self-pay: For staff who are covering the cost of course fees themselves, please complete the UCLA Staff discount application and upload your Employee Verification. Once your application and employment verification have been approved, use discount code UCLASTAFF (all caps) at checkout. 
    • An approved application on file is required for the discount to be applied. 
       
  • Department Recharge: For staff whose department will be paying all or part of the course and other fees, please complete the UCLA Staff Discount Recharge Order Request (ROR) Application. Aside from employment verification, the department recharge order request application also requires you to include the course(s) in which you will enroll. No discount code is needed. 

Restrictions: Discounts cannot be combined with other discounts or applied retroactively. Excludes Summer Quarter XL courses, uninstructed labs, administrative fee sections, and concurrent enrollment courses.

How to Apply 

Option A: Self-Pay (pay out of pocket)

  1. Submit the UCLA Staff Discount Application before enrolling to verify your employment status.

  2. Once approved, browse and select your desired instructor-led course.

  3. During checkout, enter the discount code UCLASTAFF in the promo code field (case-sensitive).

  4. Complete your payment for the remaining balance.

Option B: Department Recharge (paid by department)

  1. Obtain approval from your department supervisor or fiscal administrator to recharge course fees to a departmental fund.

  2. Complete the UCLA Staff Discount Recharge Order Request (ROR) Application. You will need to provide:

    • Employment verification details.

    • Specific course details (course name, section number, and quarter).

    • Departmental funding code and supervisor approval contact.

  3. Submit the ROR form. No promo code is required at checkout; the UCLA Extension enrollment team processes the recharge directly with your department once verified.
