UCLA Extension proudly participates in government assistance programs to serve those who have served. Veterans and their dependents may be eligible for benefits under the Veterans Administration (VA) Education Benefits program for enrollment in specific certificate programs.
Eligible VA Chapters
UCLA Extension provides enrollment and certification support for students utilizing Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill, Chapter 31 Veteran Readiness and Employment (formerly Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment), Chapter 32 Veterans' Educational Assistance Program, Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 35 Dependent's Educational Assistance, Chapter 1606 Selected Services, and Chapter 1607 Reserve Educational Assistance Program.

Applying for Benefits

Benefit Conditions
Learners utilizing military and veterans benefits must fulfill certain conditions to maintain their funding status. These conditions vary by VA chapter and cover criteria like the number of units per quarter, attendance, satisfactory academic progress, among others. Registration Deadlines
Learners are asked to submit enrollment paperwork at least two weeks before the start of the quarter to ensure timely processing of benefits. For the most recent dates and deadlines for receiving benefits, click here.
Important Note:
Only courses that are a part of your approved certificate program can be certified for Veterans Educational Benefits.
UCLA Extension programs do not qualify for the CalVet College Fee Waiver or the V-RAP Program.
