The UCLA Extension Pre-MBA Studies Certificate program consists of seven required courses, including a counseling component. To learn more about the requirements and what is covered within each course, please visit our Pre-MBA Studies Certificate page.
There will be a counseling component in which the Pre-MBA counselor will assist the student with choosing the appropriate MBA program. This service will be available for two quarters, and it is one of the main advantages of taking the courses as part of the certificate program as opposed to taking them individually.

- Selecting target schools
- Required application documents
- Presenting work experience/resume/cover letter
- Researching schools to write essays
- Getting feedback from schools
- Types of required writing for applications
- Recommendations
- Admissions interviewing
- Mock interviews
- Other supporting documents (transcripts, questions, statements of purpose, etc.)
Students will be required to submit a recommendation letter and a copy of their transcripts. It is preferred that your letter of recommendation be written by a former instructor of yours, highlighting your academic achievements and willingness to learn as a student.
