UCLA Extension allows students to request course waivers through two methods: advanced standing and course substitution. You can discuss waiver options with an advisor. Please review the key differences below before submitting your request.
- Advanced Standing: Use credits or professional experience from other institutions to reduce the required number of courses or units.
- Course Substitution: Replace a required UCLA Extension course with another approved course without reducing the total units.
