Applying for OPT - When You Can Start Applying

Students may apply for OPT up to 90 days before completing one full academic year of study, provided that:
You will complete the required full academic year (3 quarters) before your employment begins.
Your Designated School Official (DSO) confirms your eligibility and recommended employment start date.
Submitting your application early can help ensure timely processing by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
