How to Login and Access Your Course

To log into your course on Canvas, follow these steps:

  1. Go to UCLA Extension Canvas Portal.

  2. Enter your email address.

  3. Enter your Canvas Password, or click "Forgot Password" to receive an email link to set a new password (Note: New students will be prompted to create a password during setup).

  4. Select the Login button.

Note: If you do not receive the password reset email or need login help, click "Help" on the login page.

Access to your course opens 2 days before the official course start date and remains fully accessible throughout the active course period. After the course ends, access continues for 30 days: 

  • students have full access for the first 14 days, 

  • followed by read-only access for the remaining 16 days.

You are strongly encouraged to download or print any course materials and submissions before the 30-day period ends. Once this window closes, no further access is possible. To download all your assignment submissions, follow the Canvas assignment submission download guide.

  • 24/7 In-App Support: Once logged in, click "Help" in the Canvas menu for immediate technical assistance.

  • Enrollment & Login Delay: Note that Canvas access is enabled 4 hours after course enrollment.

  • Helpdesk Support: Contact Instructional and Student Technology Support at learningsupport@uclaextension.edu. Support requests are answered within 24 hours (excluding weekends and university holidays; view the academic calendar for holiday dates).
