The Screenwriting Comprehensive program may be the best fit for students interested in all of the following three categories: TV writing, film writing, and production.
The Screenwriting: Film and TV Comprehensive Certificate is one of our most well-rounded programs. Prospective students should know they will be screenwriting in both the Feature Film and TV categories, as well as taking courses in Film and TV development.
This program is designed to be completed on a half-time or full-time student basis. If needed, this certificate can be completed over a 5-year period. Please connect with an advisor at advising@uclaextension.edu for course sequencing.
This certificate requires 48 units, whereas our specialized certificates below require less courses and a lower time-commitment. See below for links and more information.
Feature Film Writing Certificate
- Required courses: Feature Film 1-4 and 6 units worth of electives
Television Writing Certificate
- Required courses: One-Hour OR Half-Hour TV 1-4 and 6 units worth of electives
- Required courses: 9 core courses and 12 units worth of electives
