Receiving Your Certificate or Award of Completion

Requesting Your Certificate or Award of Completion

You must first request an official audit of your program to ensure you are have successfully completed all requirements in order to receive your academic credential. Audit requests are typically processed between weeks 4 and 8 of each academic quarter. 

  1. Log in to the student portal and check your academic progress using "My Certificates and Specializations".

  2. Once all of your final grades have been posted, email Student Advising at advising@uclaextension.edu.

    1. Please use the following subject line format: 
      Audit Request, First & Last Name, Name of Certificate/ Specialization Program

  3. You will receive an automated email confirmation with a ticket number. If you do not receive a response within 5 business days, please reply directly to your original confirmation email to request a status update.

Delivery Options

  • Standard USPS Shipping: Credentials are sent via the United States Postal Service (USPS) at no additional charge. Delivery takes up to 4 weeks, and no tracking number is provided.

  • FedEx Expedited Shipping: To track delivery or ship internationally, log in to the Student Portal, go to "Special Requests," and add FedEx shipping (Domestic: $40.00 / International: $62.50) to your cart prior to payment.

  • Replacement Credentials: If an untracked standard shipment is lost in the mail, a $45 re-issuance fee is required to print and resend a replacement document.

Academic Honors and Alumni Benefits

Completing a UCLA Extension certificate program grants access to formal recognition and alumni benefits:

  • Earned with Distinction: Students who achieve a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher receive the "Earned with Distinction" designation on their certificate and official transcript.

  • Official University Seal: Certificates are issued on specialty paper stock featuring the official gold seal of the University of California.

  • Graduation Ceremony: Certificate program graduates are invited to participate in the annual UCLA Extension graduation ceremony held each June.

  • Alumni Privileges: Certificate graduates receive basic-level membership in the UCLA Alumni Association and lifetime free official transcripts.
