UCLA Extension operates on a four-quarter academic calendar system: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Enrollment Deadlines by Course Format
Deadlines to enroll, transfer, drop, or withdraw depend on the course structure:
Regular Format (6+ Weeks): The deadline to enroll or transfer is Sunday at the end of Week 1 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). The deadline to drop and receive a full refund is Sunday at the end of Week 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
Short Format (2–5 Weeks): The deadline to enroll or transfer is the day before the first class meeting. The deadline to drop and receive a refund is Sunday at the end of the first week of the course.
Alternative Format (1-Day Courses & Events): All enrollment, transfer, drop, and refund requests must be completed by the day before the class meeting.
Critical Academic Dates
Canvas access opens 2 days before the course start date and remains available for up to 30 days after the final class session (first 15 days grant you full access to the course; the remaining days are view-only access).
Grading & Credit Petitions: Requests to change grading options (such as letter grade versus Pass/No Pass) or petitions for an Incomplete grade must be submitted by the Sunday before the final week of instruction or prior to the final examination,

Log into the student portal to verify enrollment status, course schedules, and syllabus requirements.
Submit petitions for grade option changes, withdrawals, or Incompletes before the designated 11:59 p.m. PT deadlines.
