Concurrent enrollment allows UCLA Extension students to enroll in UCLA regular session courses on a space-available basis. These courses are offered during the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.
Eligibility and Prerequisites
To participate in concurrent enrollment, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must demonstrate they are academically prepared for the course. For lower-division courses (1–99), a "B" average in high school or one year of college is required. Upper-division courses (100–199) typically require two years of college or specific instructor consent.
Students are responsible for submitting proof that all course prerequisites have been met.
-
A minimum GPA of 2.0 must be maintained in all concurrent coursework to remain eligible for the program.
Application Steps
Enrollment is contingent upon available space and the consent of the instructor or department.
Visit the Concurrent and Cross-Enrollment page on the UCLA Extension website and click "Apply Now" to begin the application process.
-
If the course is eligible for concurrent enrollment, you will receive a digital DocuSign Registration form via email within 3-4 business days.
You must obtain the required electronic signatures from the instructor and/or the department.
Once all parties have signed, your application status in the Student Portal will change to "Approved." This typically takes 2-3 business days after the DocuSign is complete.
Once approved, you will receive instructions on how to pay your fees. Registration is not final until payment is received.
Key Things to Notes
Deadlines: Students generally have until the end of the third week of the quarter to finalize enrollment and payment. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in being dropped from the course.
Course Transfers: Concurrent enrollment forms are not transferable. If you wish to switch classes, a new application and DocuSign form are required.
Summer Sessions: Please note that there is no concurrent enrollment during Summer Sessions, as those courses are open enrollment.
