Landscape Architecture Certificate: Course Sequencing

The Landscape Architecture certificate program consists of 25 required courses and 6 elective units. The program is designed as a 3 year program, though those who begin in the summer quarter should anticipate the program to be completed in 3 years and 1 quarter. The entry quarters for the certificate are the summer or fall quarters, and the courses must be followed in the sequence listed on the certificate planner (also included below).

If you anticipate needing to take a quarter off or would like to inquire about taking courses out of sequence, we highly recommend scheduling an appointment with an advisor by emailing advising@uclaextension.edu. This will help ensure that you are able to complete the program successfully within the 5-year certificate eligibility period. Please note most courses have required prerequisites which can be found on the course page under “About this Course,” so it’s best to consult with an advisor if you would like to take courses outside of the recommended sequence. Courses noted with an * below do not have prerequisites.
