The withdrawal deadline is Sunday before the final week of the course or before the final exam, whichever comes first. Key quarter deadlines like the withdrawal deadline are listed on our academic term calendar at this link: Academic Term Calendar
Withdrawal deadlines are also available on the course payment receipt or your student portal. To find these, please follow these steps:
- Log in to the UCLA Extension student portal
- Select 'my enrollment history' from the menu
- Click on the blue dot next to the course you want to withdraw from.
- Follow the prompts to complete your withdrawal request.
For courses that require a final exam/test, you are no longer eligible to withdraw once you have access to take the final test.
When a withdrawal is processed:
A grade of “W” will be placed on your record, but the course will not appear on your transcript. No refunds are available for course withdrawals.
Withdrawal process for students who paid through a third-party
If your enrollment was submitted by a 3rd party, your withdrawal cannot be processed through the student portal. Instead, please contact cashiers@unex.ucla.edu
Withdrawal process for students on an F-1 visa, Veteran students, WIOA-funded students, and other students receiving Financial Aid.
- If you are receiving Financial Aid, withdrawing from a course may affect aid eligibility. Please review the Financial Aid Enrollment Conditions for more information.
- If you are an International student on an F-1 visa, withdrawing from a course may jeopardize your immigration status. Please consult with our International Student Services Office before requesting to withdraw from a course.
- If you are sponsored by WIOA, please contact wioa@uclaextension.edu
- If you are a Veteran, please contact Enroll@unex.ucla.edu
